Highly competent and experienced Cambridge approved teacher trainers are brought to Bangkok specifically to run the CELTA course with us. As fully trained professionals, with many years experience of ELT classroom teaching, our trainers are both authoritative and informed. The training procedure for Cambridge CELTA trainers is extremely rigorous. Not only are the trainers expected to have post-Diploma teaching experience, they are also required to have other, related industry experience. It is perhaps the personal commitment that IH trainers bring to the courses they teach however, which make them stand out; a good trainer has to be keen to continue developing themselves as trainers, has to respect their trainees and has to love their job to do it well.

Mike Sayer
Mike is a teacher and teacher trainer based in Oxford, England. He started teaching twenty years ago, and his first jobs were in language schools in Greece and Italy. He taught his first CELTA course in 1991, and has taught teachers in England, Spain, South Africa, Georgia and the United States. He is an assessor for the CELTA scheme.
Mike is also a published author. He has written numerous teacher's books, most notably those for the world famous Headway English course. This year saw the publication of his first course book, which is called Time for English.

Michelle Beare
Michelle is a teacher and teacher trainer who has recently returned to Oxford, England after working in Mexico and Spain. She started teaching twenty years ago and her first teaching job was in Sudan. She has also taught English for specific purposes in China and France.
She worked in the English Language
Department of the University of Quintana Roo, Mexico as a teacher and
trainer. She redesigned and presented the course English Phonology and
Phonetics and gave presentations to the English tutors and students
on a variety of subjects relating to the English language while there.
She first started helping with teacher
training from 1991 by observing trainee teachers' lessons and giving
feedback. She gave her first CELTA course in 1998 and has subsequently
run a number of courses in Oxford, England.
Vera Fernandes
Vera is a teacher trainer based in
Bristol. She started teaching twenty five years ago and her first jobs
were in Lisbon, Portugal and Cambridge, UK. Vera started teacher-training
in Cambridge, Italy, and later on in Bristol . In her capacity as Language
Co-ordinator, she ran the CELTA course at the University of Bristol,
and also designed and ran teacher-training courses for modular degree
programmes.
Vera has also conducted consultancies
and delivered training courses in Taiwan, China, and secondary schools
in the UK (INSET Days). She has presented papers at the British Council
and BALEAP conferences both in the UK and abroad and has worked extensively
as an examiner for the Cambridge and the Trinity Board.
