Meet the Teachers… A Moment with Max
Tell us a bit about yourself. How old are you? Where do you come from?

I’m 22 years old and was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. You might know Atlanta as the host of the 1996 Olympics, the home of the busiest airport in the world, or the birth place of Coca Cola.

Where is the best place you have visited in Thailand?

The best place I’ve visited so far is Pai in the north of Thailand. It’s impossible to feel bored there because of its relaxed and welcoming atmosphere with a good mix of scenery and nightlife.

What do you enjoy doing in Bangkok in your spare time?

In my free time you can usually find me going out with friends in the evenings or relaxing at my condo. I also enjoy cooking so I often visit local markets for ingredients.

If you had to leave Thailand tomorrow, what would you miss most?

Aside from all of the great people I’ve met here, I would miss the street food the most. So delicious yet so cheap, and the possibilities are endless.

What is the best thing about teaching?

My favorite part about teaching is meeting people from all over the world and hearing their stories. While I am teaching them English, they are teaching me about the world.

If you weren’t a teacher, what would you be?

I studied marketing at university, so I would likely be working at a marketing agency in the states if I weren’t in Bangkok.

Outside of work, when are you at your happiest?

I’m usually happiest on my weekends when I am out with friends, but sometimes my happiest is alone on my couch watching movies all day. It just depends on the week!

If you had to move to another Asian country, which one would you choose?

From what I’ve heard and read, Vietnam sounds like a nice place to live.

Which super power would you like to have?

The power to teleport, for sure. I could hang out in America for an afternoon then come back to Asia for the night, maybe even stop by Italy for a pizza or something on the way.

If you had to sit next to any fictional character on a plane, who would you choose?

I’m currently obsessed with an American show called “Broad City”, so I’d probably choose to sit next to one of the main characters from there.
