After CourseFor those who can’t dedicate 4 full time weeks to studying in Bangkok but who wish to improve their English language teaching skills and upgrade their TEFL or TESL qualifications, IH Bangkok is pleased to introduce its part time CELTA course.  As with our full time CELTA course, the part time CELTA course is designed to be highly practical and to equip its trainees with the skills to teach adults in a wide variety of situations. 

The course, which follows the same syllabus as the full time CELTA, takes place over ten weeks, on weekday evenings and approximately every other Saturday. Click on dates and fees to view the actual starting dates for our part time CELTA courses.  A typical week would consist of:

  • Monday evening from 6pm until 9:30pm - teaching practice.
  • Wednesday evening from 6pm until 9:30pm - input sessions.
  • Thursday evening from 6pm until 9:30pm - teaching practice.
  • Saturday from 9am until 4pm – input sessions.

 

Next Course Starts on 4th March 2013.

 The CELTA course includes the observation of experienced teachers, actual teaching practice, participation in the trainer input sessions and the completion of a range of practically focused written assignments.  There is no end-of-course exam but you are expected to have successfully:

  • Attended and participated in the course.
  • Completed 6 hours of teaching practice.
  • Observed 6 hours of lessons taught by experienced teachers.
  • Submitted 4 written assignments.
  • Maintained and submitted a portfolio of coursework, including lesson plans and self-evaluations.

Those trainees who have successfully completed the course will be awarded either a pass grade A, B or Pass, depending on the quality of the work and the continuous assessment by our trainers.
